The Maronite Catholic Society is a vibrant community dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of the Maronite faith. Rooted in the teachings of St. Maroun, the society plays a crucial role in fostering spiritual growth, cultural heritage, and community support among Maronite Catholics worldwide. Through various programs, events, and outreach initiatives, the society aims to strengthen the bonds of faith and fellowship while celebrating the unique contributions of Maronite culture.
To be a vibrant and inclusive Maronite community that nurtures faith, preserves our rich cultural heritage, and actively engages with Australian society. We envision a society where every member, regardless of age or background, feels valued and connected, fostering a sense of belonging and community. Through our spiritual, educational, and social initiatives, we aim to cultivate deep-rooted faith, encourage active participation in Church life, and promote social justice. By fostering love, service, and unity, we aspire to be a beacon of hope and support, reflecting the teachings of Christ and the values of our Maronite tradition in all our interactions within the broader Australian landscape.
In addition to spiritual growth, the Society prioritises the well-being of its members by offering targeted support for the elderly and vulnerable, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need. Through initiatives like social outreach programs, charitable activities, and cultural events, the Society fosters a sense of belonging and community cohesion, empowering members to live out their faith actively. By combining these elements, the Maronite Catholic Society strives to create an environment where individuals can grow spiritually, maintain their cultural identity, and contribute positively to society.

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, symbolizing the Mother of God, who gave birth to Christ, the ruler of all nations (Rev 12:1-2, 5). On her Feast of Assumption, we celebrate her victory over evil and suffering, as highlighted by Venerable Patriarch Elias Howayek, who called her “the mirror of Divine beauty and the custodian of our hope.”
This year is significant for our Maronite Church with the Beatification of Patriarch Estephan El Douaihy and the upcoming canonization of the Massabki brothers, reminding us that heaven is our true home. Mary exemplifies faith and sacrifice, affirming the dignity of life through her Assumption. We bring our petitions to her for peace in Lebanon and an end to conflicts, including in Gaza.
As we approach the Jubilee of Hope in 2025, may we be inspired by Mary’s triumph over evil and work towards God’s will, allowing divine love to nourish our families and communities.
